Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill doesn’t expect Arsenal to be distracted for the Emirates Stadium match this weekend.

Arsene Wenger’s side face a daunting trip to the San Siro on Tuesday to take on AC Milan in the Champions League after they were held to a goalless draw at home in the first leg.

But O’Neill believes the Barclays Premier League leaders will be able to cope with the demands of chasing glory on two fronts despite an injury to Eduardo who will miss the rest of the season.

“Arsenal have been able for quite a number of seasons now to be able to focus on the job in hand,” O’Neill said.

“It is not that difficult for them to be able to shift focus from Premier League matches to Champions League games.

“Arsenal have been doing it so often it is becoming almost second nature to them. I would love to say that they would take their eye off the ball against us but it won’t happen.

“They have been first or second in the Premier League all season and I don’t see them taking it easy against us. That and the Champions League are two competitions that they prize greatly.

“They have got the squad to cope with the demands despite the horrific injury to Eduardo.

“If they pick up suspensions and injuries during the course of the season they have a squad capable of dealing with it so I don’t see it as being a major problem for them.”
